Cascades announced that its new 540,000 tons/yr Greenpac partnership mill produced its first roll of lightweight recycled linerft'oard right on schedule on July 15. Adjacent to the Norampac division's existing recycled corrugating medium mill in Niagara Falls, NY, the new machine is the largest recycled PM ever installed in North America. It's just the fourth new containerboard PM started in North America in the last nine years, and will use technology similar to the latest machines in Europe and Asia to make lightweight linerboard grades in the 20-35 lb range.
