Domtar wants lawmakers to allow US truckers to carry heavier loads, the company said in its 2015 sustainability report. The company said 64% of its outbound pulp and paper last year was delivered by trucks, 18% by rail, 13% by ships, and 5% by intermodal systems. Domtar cited "trucking capacity constraints caused in part by a lack of drivers." Further, on rail, the company said: J'Rail-roads operating near capacity" decreases Domtar's "ability to move inbound raw materials and finished products to market."
