摘要

Metallic pipes are usually used in water distribution Systems.They are often corroded due to mistakes in architectural conception,in materials choice and in system use or maintenance.Generally,to prevent steel tubes corrosion in sanitary installations,galvanized steel tubes are used.This paper proposes a large review of the formation of Hot-Dip Galvanized steel coatings and explains their microstructure.It studies various types of corrosion that can be found within galvanized steel tubes used in sanitary plumbing.Four sources of corrosion,by softened water,galvanic corrosion,differential aeration corrosion and generalised corrosion are explained from samples coming from real corroded water distribution Systems.
