摘要

If there was one big light switch in the U.S. Mark Mc-Cullough said the Environmental Protection Agency has its finger on it and wants to flip it off. OK, he didn't use those exact words at the Eastern Fuel Buyers Conference in Orlando, but he came close. The industry is well aware of what the EPA's doing with regulations that would force utilities' into making major changes that will cost billions of dollars and do it in timeframes that are, at best, unrealistic. While EPA and its fellow travelers in the environmental movement point to an aging fleet of coal-fired plants as if they are doomsday machines, McCullough said some of those plants are "very robust and continue to run very, very well."
