摘要

Nick Carter figures it's time Jim Thompson, Energy Publishing's resident music lover, stopped trying to impress his readership with his lyrical knowledge and embark on a more compelling project: a history of consolidation in the U.S. coal industry. The Natural Resource Partners' CEO believes that Thompson should concentrate less on enlightening his audience with words of wisdom from the likes of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and other less-renowned crooners and focus more on emphasizing the importance of names like Addington, Harris, Harless and many others who have held properties that have changed hands over the years, leading to the much smaller number of coal companies in Central Appalachia.
