摘要

Carmela Aprile obtained her Master degree and a PhD in Organic Chemistry working on stereoselective synthesis from "Universita degli Studi di Palermo" (Italy). During her PhD she spent a period as visiting student at Cardiff University (UK) under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Wirth and another one at "Universidad Politecnica de Valencia" (Spain) under the supervision of Prof. Hermenegildo Garcia. After obtaining her PhD degree, she moved to Spain initially with a postdoctoral fellowship and after two years with a research associate contract in the group of Prof. Garcia. During this period she extended her knowledge in the field of materials chemistry and functionalization of carbon nanotubes and their photochemical properties. She worked also in the use of ionic liquid as alternative green solvents and in the synthesis of metal and metal oxide nanoparficles and in their organization into mesoporous structured materials.
