摘要

An efficient, stereocon-trolled, and highly divergent approachfor the preparation of oligomers ofchondroitin sulfate (CS) A, C, D, E, K,L, and M variants, starting from asingle precursor easily obtained bysemisynthesis from abundant naturalpolymer is reported for the first time.Common intermediates were designed that allowed the straightforward con-struction of O-sulfonated species eitheron the D-galactosamine unit (CS-A, -C,and -E) or on both D-glucuronic acid and D-galactosamine units (CS-D andCS-K, -L, and -M). This strategy repre-sents a successful improvement andbrings a definitive answer toward thesynthesis of such complex moleculeswith numerous relevant biologicalfunctions.
