摘要

The 4th International Conference (IC4N) on nanoscience/ nanotechnology took place in 2013 on the Island of Corfu in the Ionian Sea, one of the most beautiful Greek islands. This conference (Chair: Efstathios. I. Meletis) covered all relevant topics in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology, from Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials to Nanodevices and Nanosystems. As in the case of the three previous conferences, the overall goal of this event was to review the current state-of-the-art in nanoscience and nanotechnology that identify challenging and rewarding research directions and provided a stimulating environment for interaction and facilitate collaboration among the international participants. This was a unique opportunity--especially for junior researchers--for networking with some of the top scientists in the world. The organizers were also pleased to announce in this 2013-event a specific Technology Transfer Workshop with the topic NanoTechnology: From the Lab to the Marketplace. This was a remarkable event to address nanotechnology transfer into the market place.
