摘要

A colloidal suspension of ex-foliated, layered cobalt oxide nano-sheets has been synthesized throughthe intercalation of quaternary tetra-methylammonium ions into protonatedlithium cobalt oxide. According toatomic force microscopy, exfoliatednanosheets of layered cobalt oxideshow a plateau-like height profile withnanometer-level height, underscoringthe formation of unilamellar 2D nano-sheets. The exfoliation of layered cobalt oxide was cross-confirmed by X-ray diffraction, UV/Vis spectroscopy,and transmission electron microscopy.The maintenance of the hexagonal in-plane structure of the cobalt oxide lat-tice after the exfoliation process wasevidenced by selected-area electron diffraction and Co K-edge X-ray ab-sorption near-edge structure analysis.The zeta-potential measurements clear-ly demonstrated the negative surfacecharge of cobalt oxide nanosheets.Adopting the nanosheets of layeredcobalt oxide as a precursor, we wereable to prepare the monodisperse CoOnanocrystals with a particle size of 10 nm as well as the heterolayeredfilm composed of cobalt oxide mono-layer and polycation.
