摘要

The synthesis,isolation,andcomplete characterization(NMR andX-Ray diffraction techniques)of stablemononuclear(palladium and platinum)alkoxy-biscarbene complexes is reported.These compounds are easily accessiblethrough stoichiometric transmetalationreactions from Fischer alkoxychromium(0)carbene complexes.By acombination of experimental(UV/Visspectroscopy,cyclic voltammetry)and computational methods(DFT),the structure,bonding situation,and the electronic and redox properties of these complexes are studied.Althoughthey have structures quite similar,theirelectronic properties strongly depend on the metal and also on the substitution in the aromatic rings in the anilinemoieties.Electron-withdrawing groupsstabilize the HOMO causing the shiftingof the oxidation waves to loweranodic potentials in the correspondingcyclic voltammograms.
