Although producers such as Cameco and Rio Tinto may be eager to join the Russians and French in supplying India with yellowcake, the mid-term demand of the current fleet of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India, Ltd. (NPCIL) is relatively spoken for. The 300 tU supplied by Areva in 2008 has fueled the Rajasthan-2 reactor, whose capacity factor increased from 73% in 2007 to 88% in 2009. By December of last year, the reactor - the oldest of the country's PHWRs still operating - was running at 97%.
