摘要

As medicine evolves, there are great developments being achieved in new therapies, treatments, protocols, medications, and the use of exciting new technologies. The ability to diagnose, with assistance of advances in diagnostic imaging and testing, continue to propel us forward. Surgical intervention is being pushed to the limit of utilizing the term "minimally invasive". There are so many advances being realized in medicine and they are offering new treatment options to a population that were either left untreated or not able to benefit from treatment. Excitement is present in so many different areas of medicine. We have, however; at times lost our ability to preserve perspective on comparing the "new" to the fundamental and proven.
