West Bromwich-based Knowaste (2592) operates the UK's first specialist recycling facility for disposable nappies, adult incontinence and feminine hygiene products - known collectively as absorbent hygiene products. The company processes 36,000 tonnes of waste per annum, re- claiming valuable plastics and fibres for sale to the reform and reprocessing sectors. Knowaste uses autoclave technology to produce sterile final material suitable for a diverse range of applications, including bins, rooftiles, packaging and board.
