Too much of a good thing? Packaging preshipment tests are often intended to assess the ability of goods to survive distribution in the "real world." Therefore, the closer such lab tests come to simulating the real world, the more accurate those assessments can be, The current trend in package testing (technically, packaged-product testing) is toward advanced test plans that cover all major hazard elements (shock, vibration, compression, atmospheric) and that take into account various package types, handling situations, transport modes, warehouse conditions, atmospheric extremes, and distribution sequences.
