摘要

Self-help CBT manuals for young people have recently begun to emerge in the bookshops and are of varying accessibility to young people in terms of presentation and content. This book is a very welcome addition; it is written in simple language, with clear text, pictures, case examples, questionnaires and diaries that can be copied. Chapters are short and well-organised, and cover general information about OCD and its treatment and suggest alternative resources. The CBT involves psycho-education, a programme of Exposure and Response Prevention and cognitive work in a suitably planned progression, which is designed to be used with a supportive adult. Each chapter has a section for parents and carers. We tried it out with a couple of young people being seen within CAMHS for OCD who thought that it looked very useful and informative.
