At the time of writing, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia's national president, Kos Sclavos, is out of the country. As acting national president, however, I am very pleased to contribute to this edition of the AJP. The issue I wish to address in this column is the process surrounding Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) price changes, including conditions surrounding how the Guild is able to notify its members regarding these adjustments. I am aware that there is some anger and frustration among pharmacists regarding the period of notice we receive from the Department of Health and Ageing prior to price changes taking effect.
