HEALTHCARE workers are shying away from taking the flu vaccine as myths about influenza, and barriers around cost and access, continue to hamper efforts to contain this highly contagious disease.The National Institute of Clinical Studies (NICS) found that only 20 to 50 per cent of healthcare workers are currently being vaccinated despite them being at increased risk of both contracting and spreading influenza.
