"For an outstanding research paper whose findings pro-vide important evidence regarding the promise of amale-sensitive approach to mental health marketing andempirically support the inclusion of theory-driven en-hancements in group-targeted mental health campaignefforts. The paper, titled "Men's Help-Seeking for De-pression: The Efficacy of a Male-Sensitive BrochureAbout Therapy," presented at the 2008 American Psy-chological Association convention, was the basis for Jo-seph H. Hammer's selection as the 2009 Psi Chi/APAEdwin B. Newman Graduate Research Award recipient.Hammer's findings suggest that certain male-tailoredapproaches may improve depressed men's attitudes andreduce self-stigma of seeking help. Glenn Good, PhD,served as faculty sponsor."
