Florida Citrus Mutual uses a triangle as their logo--Grower, Shipper, Processor, with the grower as the base. Sure enough, the grower is the key man in the Florida citrus industry. Without him, none of the rest of it would happen. He acquires land, prepares it, plants his trees, puts in an irrigation system, sprays, fertilizes, worries about the weather, diseases, pests, and the market.. Once he's produced a crop, he's got to find someone to buy it. The ultimate buyer, of course, is the consumer. But before it gets to the consumer, there is layer after layer of "handling." At any rate, the orange winds up at some point in a processing plant or a fresh citrus packinghouse.
