摘要

A late bloomer is a person whose talents or capabilities are not visible until later than "normal'. The term is used metaphorically to describe a child or adolescent who develops slower than others in their age group, but eventually catches up and insome cases overtakes their peers. It can also refer to an adult whose talent in a particular field only appears later in life. A good female example is Meryl Streep, arguably the best actress of this generation, who graduated Yale School of Drama at age27. A male late bloomer is illustrated by Rodney Dangerfield who did clubs when young but quit to be a salesman. He was 42 when he became an actor/comedian.
