Per capita per day level was estimated to be lower for the farm households as against their counter parts the non-farm households. The per capita per day income was Rs.24.38 for non-farm household. Per capita per day estimated expenditure was Rs. 17.24 and Rs.28.08. Thus, the hypothesis - The per capita income, expenditure and nutritional level is relatively higher in case of non-farm households may be accepted. On an average farm-household had 56.5 Ig of protein availability per capita per day against the recommended intake of 55 ± 5g. However, a deficiency of 80.68 k.cal per capita per day was observed over the recommended dose of 280 ± 50 k.cal. The per capita per day protein availability for non-farm households was in excess of 3.08g over therecommended dose, but was within the range of recommendation. Also non-farm households were observed to have excess of energy intake of 285 k.cal per capita per day over the required norms of 2400 ± 50 k.cal. Both farm and non-farm households on an average were maintaining their nutrition efficiency. It was also indicative that the non-farm household had an edge over the farm household consumer so far as the efficiency index was concerned. Hence, the hypothesis - the nutritional status of non-farm families with respect to protein and calorie-Intake is relatively more efficient is therefore accepted.
