When tetraethylresorcin[4]arene is crystallized from di-oxane,it forms a "head-to-head" arranged self-dimer directly connected by non-conventional O-H...pi interaction.The resorcinarene molecule adopts the unusual flattened-cone conformation,where two of the four intramolecular hydrogen bonds are broken.
