In recent years, inadequate greywater management has not only been linked to environmental degradation and serious health risks, but also has been increasingly identified as a valuable resource rather than a waste. Appropriate reuse of greywater not only reduces consumption of drinking water for various other uses, but also improves public health and environment Most of the Indian population face an acute scarcity of potable water especially in the summer months. In this paper an attempt has been made to emphasize on the need of grey water recycle and reuse for improving the availability of drinking water for the sustainable development of water resources in urban area in India.
