water, energy andenvironment are essentialinputs for the sustainabledevelopment of society in the comingyears and are, therefore, regarded asfundamental life support systems.Considering that less than 0.08% of theworld's water is accessible for directhuman use, and it is not even distributeduniformly, it easy to understand whywater scarcity is a global issue.
