摘要

The Australian kitchen industry has changed since the current Standards, AS/NZS 4386.1: Domestic kitchen assemblies, Part 1: Kitchen units and AS/NZS 4386.2: Domestic kitchen assemblies, Part 2: Installation, were published in 1996. These changes, which include new design trends, products, applications and appliances, have led to inadequacies limiting the usefulness of the current Standards. With a value in excess of 5 billion dollars annually, the Australian kitchen industry is a substantial component of both the new and renovation segments of the Australian building industry. The Australian kitchen industry comprises in excess of 6000 kitchen companies that range in size from the single operator to the large corporate manufacturer and retailer.
