Many community organisations are finding it difficult to obtain public liability insurance for their activities such as running a country craft market or managing a "friendly" paint ball skirmish. A sector that is inherently involved is the outdoor recreation industry. Activities range from simple things like bush walking and camping, through sporting activities such as horse riding and kayaking to "extreme" sports like bungee jumping, white water rafting and base jumping. In all of these activities, some degree of risk is involved. But what is "risk"?
