Several of the AS/NZS 2161 series on Occupational protective gloves have now been revised in line with changes to the European (EN) Standards from which they were adopted. Although the changes between the old and new editions are not great, the Committee considered it important to adopt the latest editions and not be using older tests. Additionally two new ISO Standards, ISO 13999-2 and 13999-3 have been adopted as parts 7,2 and 7.3 of the series, extending the range of gloves intended against cuts and stabs by hand knives. These changes will ensure that those responsible for supplying protective gloves for a variety of uses can specify that gloves meet the most up to date requirements for such items.
