MELBOURNE'S LARGEST WATER WATER utility, Yarra Valley Water, has gained certification through SAI Global Limited to the internationally recognised information security management systems [ISMS] Standard, AS/NZS 7799.2:2003. The Chief Executive Officer of SAI Global Limited, Mr Ross Wraight, said: "Effectively managing and securing information assets is a vital task for all businesses and I am delighted that Yarra Valley Water has achieved certification." Yarra Valley Water's General Manager, Finance and Company Secretary, Mr Terry Swingler, who also has accountability for Information Technology, said: "The challenge for all businesses is being able to implement and show our stakeholders that we have done everything necessary to protect our information assets. "With the increasing focus on information security, physical security and business continuity planning in case of unforeseen disaster, the ISMS Standard certification provides a means for us to benchmark our Information Security Management Systems," said Mr Swingler.
