I read with interest the recent meta-analysis by Yin and colleagues1 comparing treatment of eczema with pimecrolimus and tacrolimus published in The Journal of Dermatology. The study authors have chosen an interesting area of eczema research. The fact that the authors have taken the time to look at the adverse events and the rate of withdrawal alongside efficacy is particularly encouraging. While the question being asked is an important one, there are some methodological aspects of this study which give cause for concern.
