Respirometry is a non-destructive technique that has been widely used both to monitor fungal growth and to evaluate the utilization of specific substrates by fungi(Tan and Moore,1995).Most respirometric devices are expensive,complicated and require well-trained laboratory personnel.The BOD OxiTop~R measuring system(OxiTop~R,WTW,Weilheim,Germany)is an apparatus that measures the drop in pressure of a gas phase in a closed system.
