摘要

The luminescence properties of Eu in Eu-doped and Eu-Gd co-doped CsMgCl_3 are reported. Emission is observed from Eu~(2+), Eu~(3+) in symmetric pairs and Eu~(3+) in what appears to be higher-order "clusters" of lanthanide ions. Rate constants for cross relaxation out of ~5D_1 and ~5D_2 are reported over the temperature ranges of 10-373 K and 10-298 K, respectively, for the symmetric Eu-Eu pair. The branching of ~5D_2 cross relaxation between ~5D_2 → ~5D_1 and ~5D_2 → ~5D_0 is also reported.
