摘要

The article by Corona et al. [1] reports that male hypogonadism occurs as a consequence of statin therapy. Statin medications are widely prescribed for dyslipidemias that frequently accompany a variety of obesity-related states, which by themselves produce male hypogonadism because of increased aromatase activity that is associated with adipose tissue accumulation [2]. The induction of even mild degrees of male hypogonadism, for long periods of time, has important implications [3].
