摘要

Since the establishment of the European Federation of Sexology (EFS) in 1988, one of its major goals has been the promotion of education and training for sexologists and other professionals with interest in the field. More than 10 years ago, in 2002, the general assembly of the EFS adopted a resolution to develop a European training program and certificate in sexology. The aim was to standardize academic teaching programs about sexual function in the different EU countries. In 2007, the EFS began collaboration with the European Society of Sexual Medicine (ESSM) at the Oxford School of Sexual Medicine to guarantee and promote the highest standards of health care in the field. In 2011 the ESSM initiated the Educational Committee, with the primary responsibility of supporting trainees in sexual medicine by providing educational opportunities to help them succeed in the examination of the Multidisci-plinary Joint Committee on Sexual Medicine (MJCSM), under the auspices of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
