Since joining the ranks of gold producers in 1991, Richmont Mines (riot, ric-x) has produced more than 1.2 million oz. gold from its operations in Quebec, Ontario and Newfoundland, andbymid-year the company expects to add production from its Francoeur mine to bring gold production to about 100,000 oz. a year. Now Richmont has even more good news for shareholders at its Wasamac property, less than 10 km east of the Francoeur mine. A new resource estimate demonstrates the property has measured and indicated resources of 5.09 million tonnes grading 2.51 grams gold per tonne for 411,073 oz. gold. Inferred resources add 11.52 million tonnes of 2.72 grams gold for 1 million oz. gold.
