A recent survey by the Korea Metal Journal on nine major local makers of pre-painted steel sheets showed that they sold 110,800 tons at home and 70,300 tons abroad, respectively, in May, marking a month-on-month drop of 4.2% and 9.9%. Compared with the same month last year, they enjoyed a surge of 23% in the domestic sales in May but suffered a drop of 6.6% in exports.
