Sales of domestic pre-painted steel sheets decreased 3.5% to 166,100 tons in December last year compared with 172,200 tons a year ago. A recent survey by the Korea Metal Journal on the nine major local makers of pre-painted steel sheets showed that they sold 83,800 tons in the domestic market and 82,300 tons in the overseas market last month, which were down 2.2% and 4.9%, respectively, from a year ago. Consumers' year-end inventory adjustment dragged down their December sales in the domestic market.
