The devaluation of the Iranian rial against foreign currencies announced on June 8 by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has come as a strong surprise to the local steel market. While rebar prices have been rising in the last two weeks in Iran (just like other local long and flat steel prices), the new announcement by the CBI is expected to provide local traders with a good opportunity to raise their prices further in the coming days.
