Sales of domestic prepainted steel sheets extended an upward trend in February. The monthly sales by 9 prepainted steel sheet makers in February was exceeded 141,600 tons, getting 7.8 percent ahead of the year-earlier period' pace and marking a month-on-month drop of 8.3 percent. Such a year-on-year rise in the February sales was analyzed to have resulted from the increased monthly working days of February compared with the same month of the previous year, while the month-on-month decrease was due to a seasonal factor in the typical low-demand period as well as a slight drop in exports in the wake of depletion of export quota under safeguard in China at the beginning of the year.
