Although uneasiness is mounting in the market of the hot-rolled coils (HR) amid a rumor about a possible supply crisis in a coming high-demand period, demand remains sluggish without any notable move. HR imports for distribution have drastically have dropped this year. Thus, if demand picked up during a seasonal high-demand period, a substantial problem will arise from the aspect of supply, most distributors foresee. Further, most distributors share the common view on a possible occurrence of supply crisis. Nevertheless, there is no sign of speculative demand. If the market is right on track, a speculative demand surely surges ahead of a high-demand period. But, the market currently continues to show flatness in demand.
