Like 2002, sales of imported steel pipes are expected to be extending a strong trend this year in distribution market. Particularly, demand for steel pipes for special purpose like seamless pipe is foreseen to post a high rise, making a slight gain in the market share of imported steel pipes compared with the previous year. Such a forecast has been made on the grounds that domestic market for steel pipes would grow this year, even through it may move slightly, and import prices of steel pipes are likely to extend a weak trend following the previous year.
