A recent rumor about a rise in mild steel wire rod price has made the tertiary processors fall into severe confusion. Moreover, industry officials are expressing worry about a possible increase in all wire rod prices, as there is a high possibility to see a price reversal phenomenon with the mild steel wire rod price getting higher than those for other wire rods due to the recent continuing rise in the import prices for mild steel wire rods. Recent market price for domestic mild steel wire rods has been formed in a range between 425,000 won and 435,000 won per ton with some variation according to extra charge adjustment per size and property of each steel product.
