Setting annual sales target at 1.4 trillion won for this year. Union Steel, a steelmaker specialized in surface treatment, is expected to open a new era of 1 trillion won in annual sales this year. It held a directors meeting February 10 and approved the corporate business plan for 2004 with the target of annual sales at 1.4 trillion won and ordinary profit at 80 billion won. The company aims to post 1.31 million tons in output in 2004 which is almost same as the previous annual production in 2003, challenging the annual sale profit rate of 100 percent. Even though there have been a lot of obstacles like an explosive rise in raw material costs and difficulties in procurement of raw materials in their challenge for the annual goals since the beginning of this year, the company is determined to make every effort to attain the corporate targets by changing such crises into opportunities to move forward.
