Domestic market for rock bolts was found to have a great potentiality for growth. A strong point of rock bolts lies not only in a possible cut of construction cost by using the processed reinforcing bars in the form of screw directly with bolt and nut at construction sites, but also in earthquake-proof use, thanks to their solid coupling. The current domestic market is estimated to be in a range between 15,000 tons and 20,000 tons per year, while Japanese market size comes to 240,000 tons to 300,000 tons. Furthermore, rock bolts are used only for tunnel construction works in Korea, whereas they are in wide use for general construction purpose in Japan and therefore, if rock bolts are engrafted into domestic construction market, the current market size would be enlarged by several times at once.
