Despite a slowdown in domestic economy and a slump in the stock market, most steelmakers' stock prices are keeping on rising day by day. In addition to the marketers' expectation that the recent fall in the won-dollar exchange rate would lead to an decrease in the actual import prices for raw materials, an anticipated continuing rise in the prices for steel products until the first half of next year amid tight demand-supply balance of steel products in the Southeast Asian market is working as a beneficent factor for the domestic stock market.
