Due to price hike and supply shortages. Domestic cold-rolled steel sheet (CR) distributors are continuing to sag under the twin pressures of price hike and supply shortages. POSCO announced it increase the price on its cold-rolled flat products by 50,000-75,000 won per ton, effective with orders received February 9, but CR distributors did not decide right away when they would apply the increase portion of POSCOs price to their selling prices in the market. Since the increase portion in the price from POSCO was so large, distributors appeared to worry about possible strong resistance from consumers particularly in the situation where actual demand show no sings of any recovery amid a severe economic slump.
