The imposition of high-rate tariffs on the imports of steel products, which the U.S. took in accordance with the safeguard in March last year to overhaul its home industries and restructure makers of steel products, appeared to have an adverse effect on automotive parts manufacturers in the U.S. The imposition of high-rate tariffs on steel products for three years is helping the steel industry in the U.S. regain stabilization, while giving such a bad impact to suppliers of automotive parts as to reduce employment, according to a report by the Korea Trade Center, Detroit, the Korea Investment Trade Promotion Agency (KOTRA) that quoted recent article in "Automatic News."
