Despite low selling prices in the domestic market, it is difficult to see any particular rise in demand for Chinese H-beams which are known to have been imported in volume recently. According to H-beam industry sources, it is because that unlike earlier expectation at the beginning of the year, demand for H-beams is making a slow recovery even though it is in late March and that Chinese H-beams in the domestic market lack variety in specification. The selling prices for Chinese H-beams are formed at the levels lower than those for Dongkuk Steel's products by 50,000-70,000 won per ton in the domestic market. Domestic H-beams produced by Dongkuk Steel are selling at the prices lower than those for INI Steels products.
