According to a recent report by the Korea Iron & Steel Association, both China and Japan were found to be the net exporting countries in the trade of plates among Korea, Japan and Japan, while Korea is a net importing county as the largest market for Chinese and Japanese plates. Taking a look at the net exports and imports of plates among those three countries in 2006, Korea posted the net plate imports of 2.61 million tons, while the net exports by China and Japan marked 3.26 million tons and 2.79 million tons, respectively.
