The world's non-governmental organisations (NGOs) recognised the importance of organic farming in their presentation to the United Nations' summit on food security held in Rome in November. The NGO forum, which represented 1200 organisations from 80 countries, and included International Federation of Organic Movements representatives, was given four minutes to make a statement to the summit.
