McKee-Addison Tube Forming Inc. has developed a multihit version of its ram forming machine. An improvement over the company's FM7OMHRF model, the new machine, model FM7O-SRF-TT, allows the operator to select and program the sequence of ram forming tools to produce desired end forms.The tools are mounted on individual holders that are pushed into the workpiece by a hydraulic cylinder, and the entire toolholder assembly is actuated across the machine bed by a second hydraulic cylinder Because each tool is individually pushed toward the workpiece, tooling clearance is enhanced, and cycle time is reduced.
